Terms of sale.

These terms are a contract between you and Alpha Numeric Multi-Media Ltd, company number 06493804, registered in England and Wales at 27 Larkhill, Rushden, NN10 6BG, trading as Map & Print. English law applies, and the English courts have jurisdiction, without taking away any protection the law of the country you live in gives you.

A print bought on Etsy is a sale made on Etsy, under Etsy’s terms. These terms cover what happens after that, which is the same as for a print bought here: the design, the making and the posting.

What you can buy

• A map print: a poster, a framed print, a canvas, a print on aluminium dibond or acrylic, made to order from a map you design here.
• A map file: the same design as a print-ready PNG or a vector pack, delivered by download.
• A relief print, and homeware and clothing, made in our own workshop in England and posted within the UK.

Every print is made to order and personalised: the place, the words and the look are yours. There is no stock.

Price and payment

The price is the one shown beside the product when you order, in the currency of the region you chose to deliver to, and it includes tracked delivery to that region. Nothing is added at the till. Payment is taken by Stripe when you order. We do not see or store your card details.

Where and how it is made

Flat prints are made by a professional print lab in the region you are having it delivered to: the United Kingdom, the European Union, the United States, Canada or Australia. That is why each region has its own price list, and why some products are not sold in every region. Relief prints, homeware and clothing are made by us in England.

Your design, and when it can still change

You can change the design as often as you like, on the link in your email, until the print goes into production at the lab. The page for your order shows where it stands. Once it is in production the design is fixed, because the print is being made from it. The words on the print are yours: check the spelling before you send it, and tick the box that says you have.

The map itself is drawn from OpenStreetMap data, which is why a small credit line is printed in the corner of every print and in every file. Names, roads and coastlines are as OpenStreetMap has them; a missing lane or a renamed street is theirs to fix, not a fault in the print.

Your print file

When you send a design, your browser makes the print file and we keep a copy of it with the order. We hold it for thirty days after it was sent, then it is deleted automatically. The thirty days are in case the print has to be made again, at the same lab or a different one. The design itself stays on your link for four months, and a new print file is made from it whenever you send again.

Delivery

A print is usually posted within three to five working days of the design being sent, and it is posted tracked; the page for your order shows the tracking number once it has left. If the lab cannot make it, we will tell you and refund you in full.

Your right to cancel

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you usually have fourteen days to cancel a purchase made at a distance. Two of the exceptions apply here, and we are required to tell you so before you buy:

• Prints are personalised goods, made to your design, and the right to cancel does not apply to them once the print is in production. Before that point you can cancel, or change the design, for nothing.
• Files are digital content. By downloading a file you agree that it is delivered at once and that you give up the right to cancel from then.

None of this touches your rights if something is wrong with what you get.

If something goes wrong

If a print arrives damaged, or is not what you ordered, or is not made to a proper standard, tell us within thirty days with a photograph and we will have it made again or refund you, whichever you prefer. A print that is right but that you have changed your mind about is not a fault, because it was made for you alone.

What you may not do

The words and any photograph you put on a print must be yours to use. Nothing may be ordered that is unlawful, that infringes somebody else’s rights, or that is abusive. We may refuse to make such a print and refund it.

Changes

We may change these terms; the date above says when we last did. The terms in force when you ordered are the ones that apply to that order.
