The relief print takes the real height of the land and builds it onto the board, layer by layer, in clear UV varnish. Mountains, valleys and coastlines stand up under your hand. Turn the 3D preview here before it is made.

How it is made.
The elevation comes from the same terrain data mapmakers use, at the exact area you frame. The colour pass is printed flat, then the varnish is built up over it in passes until the highest ground stands proud of the board. The result is a print with real shadows in real light.
It is made in our own workshop in England and posted within the UK.
What looks best.
Mountains
The Alps, the Lake District, a single peak you climbed. The steeper the ground, the more there is to feel.
Coasts and islands
The sea stays flat and the land rises from it, which makes a coastline read at a glance.
A route over it
Add the GPX of the walk or the ride and the line crosses the relief where you actually went.
Sizes and boards.
Relief prints come on rigid board in the sizes on the card, and the price includes the varnish the design uses, which the tool works out from the terrain as you design. The 2.5D file pack, a colour pass and a height map, is for sale for anyone with their own UV printer.
Questions
- How high does the relief stand?
- A few millimetres at the highest ground, scaled to the area you frame. A single mountain range reads more strongly than a whole continent.
- Can I see it before it is made?
- Yes. The designer shows a 3D preview you can turn with the mouse, lit as it would be on the wall.
- Can it be posted abroad?
- Not yet. Relief prints are made and posted within the UK. Flat prints are made locally in the EU, the US, Canada and Australia.
